I suspect none of those suggestions are correct in this instance -we will just have to wait and see. Wilt's insiders at the GSCC suggest a bit of a cock up - actually a huge fucking cock up. Details to follow in due course. Remember, you read it first here.

Is it possibly because both cases have been taken down the health route rather than the conduct one. This may explain why the hearings are private to protect the confidential health information of the registrant that may be admitted into the case? Adjournment could be to seek more information before reaching a decision. Apart from that I have no idea.

Oh and while I am here I should add that I used to like Gove as a newspaper columnist but he has proven to have no presence in the visual media. He is hugely unimpressive and a big disappointment. He seems a bit "wet" to be honest. I expected more of him. The prospect of he and Vince Cable taking on the unions is frankly laughable. The toffish new PM and his oleaginous Chancellor won't have the unions quaking in their boots either come to that.

As usual I disagree with Wilt on the matter of the unions. Strike action is the ultimate right of workers to take. There has been very little militant public sector union action for years, especially among the professional groups. That they feel strongly enough to take strike action now should indicate to the coalition MPs that their political futures can also be severely curtailed by union members en masse not voting for them. It should also be noted that the very people who are demanding changes to public sector workers' pensions, our MPs, are not going to relinquish their own excessively generous public sector final salary pensions any time soon. Hypocrisy or what? Personally I am quite prepared to strike in defence of my agreed pension entitlements. If they are going to make changes they should affect only new entrants, not current staff.

Last time I felt 29 degrees was in London one hot summer and it was too much. Over here in NI we tend to have cooler climes. It reached the dizzy heights of 17c today and over the coming days it may get as high as 16c tomorrow and then sliding down to 13c as the week goes on. That's not a lot. The plants have hardly any flowers and the bees must be in decline. The longest day has gone before there has been any sign of summer weather here. The last decent weather was a two week spell in late April. This is what we get for being the last piece of land this side of the Atlantic until the USA and northwest to Iceland. The grey dull clouds have been almost unremitting and the grass is truly deeply green from all the incessant rain. As I look out my window now I can see the setting sun casting a gentle orange glow on the trees at the bottom of my garden. It has come out briefly at the end of the day to taunt us. 29 c - not here anyway and rarely too.

They should rename my NI Health Trust the COI as the whole damn structure has been taken over by vast information gathering requirements that waste huge amounts of valuable staff time. This time would be much better directed towards service user and patient care instead of feeding the requiremants of the megalomaniacal NI Department of Health and Social Services. The pen pushers that inhabit this organisation are calling the shots and it is costing a fortune to produce the information that requires to flow upward. Only demands flow downward. It is also putting people's lives at risk as staff ure unable to do the essential parts of their job properly due to the burden of information and bureaucratic demands placed upon them. It is a total farce.

Actually it keeps the blood flowing Watchful – so keep it up. No apology required. The whole point is to throw around insults – this is where Wilt can vent some of his frustration or mock those who need it. Indeed, call it cathartic therapy!

Believe it not it also keeps those fools at the GSCC et al in order – they do read these postings, even without the help of Calleja. Other regulars are Ofsted, SCIE, the BBC and an assortment of newspapers – occasionally they even seek Wilt’s views.

So, carry on Old Chap.

I am slightly reticent about the technical aspects of trying to add a posting but mainly it is that I am so wrecked by the day's travails at the coal face and with the impact all of the organisational changes that have been taking place that I don't have the energy to strike out on my own as yet. All in good time. While I am here by the way my apologies to you for straying into giving you a touch of personal grief for your views on the public sector. I was slightly piqued as well as rather tired and fell below the standards of rational debate. No offence intended you are assured.

Wilt I love it when you get angry. I also like the idea of you as a long haired socialist and angry young man. It just goes to show how we can change as we get older. I do appreciate that you work hard, that it isn't a bed of roses for you in your work and that you stand on your own two feet.
The main thrust of my argument is that because private sector pensions have been made inferior and will leave many poorly off, this does not mean that public sector pensions should be related to the lowest common denominator, made inferior and relatively worthless too. Public pensions should set a high standard not reduce it in my opinion.
I disagree about allowing market forces to rule in local government and especially in the NHS. What would happen is that greedy people like the Southern Cross management would asset strip the whole business and then expect the government to take it back on because it was deemed too big to fail. It would just cost more in the end. I know where you are coming from but I disagree.
