I mean I know Wilt is a little right wing but could you imagine this other mad woman, Sarah Palin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarah_Palin), entering the White House (http://www.whitehouse.gov/)?

The Guardian has a disturbing article, published today, here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/may/31/sarah-palin-presidential-race-2012

Thoughts of digging an atomic bomb proof shelter hundreds of feet underground suddenly comes to mind. Compared to Palin Wilt is a pussycat – actually perhaps I should scrub that description as Palin is apparently a good shot with a rifle and loves a good hunt.

OK Bush (both of them) were right wing in political terms, but Palin is something else. Surely those nice American people could not vote her into office? Mind you they voted Reagan into office – however Reagan (and I say this with all seriousness) had at least a few brain cells more than Palin could ever hope to achieve. And he at least defeated the Russians without Armageddon befalling the world.

Wilt Portfolio

Wilt Portfolio

One reflects – at one time I despised Margaret Thatcher and thought Ronald Reagan a complete joke – but history has shown that both were actually very progressive and actually did achieve some good (in the long term) out of painful reforms both domestically and internationally.

But Palin? Wilt could be wrong, but if she ever did get into office (gulp) he would be hiring a drilling rig and some miners able to build a safe underground refuge.  Alternatively Wilt could bid for this island idyll: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/tvandradio/8548120/Castaway-island-of-Taransay-on-market-for-2m.html

Gawd forbid.

Sad Plonker

A Warwick fraud – surely not!

Wilt Portfolio

Wilt Portfolio

Warwickshire do not have frauds, do they? Well, actually a few but this one is in the news today: http://order-order.com/2011/05/31/tory-lord-taylor-gets-12-months/

And here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-13599624

And this: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/conservative/8547572/Lord-Taylor-jailed-for-12-months-over-expenses-fraud.html

Try this one too: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1392685/Former-Tory-peer-jailed-12-months-fiddling-expenses.html

Plus this article: http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2011/may/31/mps-expenses-lord-taylor-jailed

Wilt Portfolio

Wilt Portfolio

Poor old Lord Taylor of Warwick – it actually is kind of sad that a black Peer is marked down and indeed sent down for fraud; it actually does not help black politics or the black community who need icons and leaders of distinction, at least not of his now distinction.

The fact is however he should have known better and behaved better and indeed given his legal qualifications should have realised he was going to be found guilty given the weakness of his defence.

However, he deserves no sympathy, any more than his fellow white fraudulent political figures.

We wonder if he knows any other folk previously or currently resident in Warwickshire associated with fraudulent behaviour. And of course he is also a former Solihull politician before he migrated to become a failed MP candidate but eventual Member of the House of Lords.

Now he has some other royal appointment with a prison warden.

Relax

28-05-11

From the desk in North Wales:

Wilt Portfolio

Wilt Portfolio

‘So there is a God after all’ must be words uttered by Sharon Shoesmith. This is a brilliant result:  http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-13582644

And: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/baby-p/8541521/Baby-P-Sharon-Shoesmith-in-line-for-1-million-tax-funded-payout-over-unfair-and-unlawful-treatment.html among other reports. Oh, one supposes one should also mention Community Care: http://www.communitycare.co.uk/Articles/2011/05/27/116898/shoesmith-wins-appeal-and-likely-to-get-1m-compensation.htm

Shoesmith was the scapegoat of all scapegoats in modern times – she deserved not to have a whole pile of shit dumped on her by Haringey Council, those utter fucking idiots Ofsted and least of all by that evil bastard Balls. If this result were only to put Balls to shame it would be a triumph worth its weight in gold, but of course it puts a whole host of others in the firing line.

Wilt Portfolio

Wilt Portfolio

Playing politics with the tragic death of a child is not only disgraceful but very unwise, as this cased has eventually gone on to illustrate. Shoesmith, for whatever failings, was made a social work martyr and she aint even a social worker! It just goes to show that anyone resembling a social worker is likely to get huge amounts of crap poured on them, just for the hell of it. Very convenient for the likes of Balls (he is such an evil twat) but not exactly enlightened, informative or likely to lead to better practice.

Ofsted – well they are of course just a joke, not unlike the GSCC and its sister organisations in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. The likes of Balls (and it now also seems Gove – who Wilt thought better of) and these quango are all in cahoots. ‘You watch my back and I will watch yours’ comes to mind.

Over the time that Regulator Watch has existed Wilt has had numerous emails from disgruntled registered social workers and social care workers who have, quite frankly, been harassed by the GSCC (especially) and its neighbours. Some have sought advice, others remarked on the piss poor quango and, for the most part, very grateful subscribers who have found Regulator Watch an absolute Godsend and a root to reality whilst under immense pressure. Only the other day did one correspondent say that they were released from their torture by the GSCC after months of irrelevant enquiries which it admitted were not really necessary – they apologised and said they had new procedures to avoid putting registrants to the test when it could be obvious there was no case to answer.

Wilt Portfolio

Wilt Portfolio

That rang a bell with Wilt – a close friend of his (pursued by Calleja and Plaskitt) for many years had a visit from a senior GSCC officer to deliver a personal apology. This was sometime in 2006/7 when that GSCC officer said: ‘Please do not quote me but she [Calleja] is vexatious.’ He went on, and this is the key point, ‘We now have in place procedures where this cannot happen again.’ Mmmmmmm we think.

There is no doubt whatsoever that Plaskitt (former MP and utter twat) and Calleja of Leamington Spa have any further currency with the GSCC, Ofsted, the police, parliament, the Information Commissioner or local authorities – they are quite frankly tagged as ‘toxic.’ They are simply a danger to public wisdom, the taxpayers of the UK (with their endless complaints) and common sense.

It seems the GSCC are having trouble again in promulgating anything remotely ‘common sense’ or even the concept of justice to its officers. They carry on, very highly paid with magnificent conditions of service, with aplomb, and quite frankly do not give a shit. They are a total and utter waste of space – the sooner they are made defunct the better.

Wilt Portfolio

Wilt Portfolio

Whereas there are dozens upon dozens of Care Standards Tribunal findings against the GSCC: http://www.justice.gov.uk/guidance/courts-and-tribunals/tribunals/care-standards/index.htm there are countless other not reported actions by the GSCC because they do not come to fruition – mostly because they should never have been commenced in the first place and hence, being held in private, never come to public attention. We know this because of our correspondents – Wilt would wish they publish (anonymously) their messages on Regulator Watch – but he is bound by a faith of confidentiality not to publish online some very desperate and sad stories of registrants.

Wilt will never disclose private correspondence, unless you are Plaskitt or Calleja – both have previous ‘form’ when it comes to breaching confidentiality, whether from ‘abusing’ Parliamentary privilege or just ignoring behaviour which one might regard as reasonable of a ‘normal’ person. Regrettably Calleja is far from normal.

And so Sharon, what now my dear? Not again we think a Director of Children’s services, even if you wanted it. Take the money you rightfully will deserve, make wise investments and just relax – you deserve it.

We wish you well.

Poor taste

25-05-11

We do rather hope that Wall is OK: http://wallofbrick.wordpress.com/

Wilt Portfolio

S/he has not posted anything since October last year, which is a shame because Wall has a really good sense of humour and although we may not share the same politics the quality of the posts are very good. Indeed the whole concept of the blog, its name, structure and content demonstrate not only intelligence but also a well thought out idea.

Come back Wall – please. You and Guido http://order-order.com/ make up part of my daily diet of essential reading.

Meanwhile Wilt aint so sure that all this ‘privacy law’ stuff and the mass twitter outing of a certain footballer is at all healthy – it is just the tabloids using others to create mass hysteria about nonsense. It is not exactly like Clinton getting a blow job from Lewinski.

Wilt Portfolio

Wilt Portfolio

The fact that it was John Hemming, the most stupid of MPs (yes even more thick than former MP Plaskitt), outed the footballer just proves the point that it is all about selling newspapers and a bandstand for self-publicists such as this arsehole of a Parliamentarian – he even makes dwarf Bercow (the Speaker) look demure and retiring. The thing is, MPs with very small brains are very dangerous – on Newsnight even John Prescott came across as sharp minded when compared to Hemming. It is a shame that Prescott did not get the opportunity to give Hemming his infamous right hook to the chin – now that would have been newsworthy, and justified.

Why do the people of Birmingham Yardley give Hemming a seat in Parliament for Gawd sake?

Wilt Portfolio

Wilt Portfolio

It is all in rather poor taste, we think.

What is all this crap: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/8529609/Newspaper-publishes-name-of-footballer-with-gagging-order.html OR: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1389841/The-great-gagging-order-revolt-Scottish-paper-prints-picture-super-injunction-footballer-30-000-unmask-Twitter.html

Has Wilt checked out Twitter? No. Did he phone friends in Scotland to discover this not so mysterious footballer? No. Does Wilt give a shit? No.

Does Wilt know who he is? No. Is Wilt interested? No.

There are so many conflicting invested interests in the matter to defy mathematical equation.

What about some real news like Syria, Libya and the rest of North Africa? Perhaps we could rely upon the press to look at the economy, indeed how the press have broken the law by hacking mobile phones or the price of bread. Indeed anything, please, other than footballers who shag an ex-Miss Wales.

Egypt 1 2009 211

Wilt Portfolio

Of course Mrs ‘Android’ of Leamington Spa and Plaskitt (Mr ‘Dunes’) will be all a ‘twitter’ not knowing quite whether freedom of speech is the primary concern or whether being ‘big brother’ in Orwellian fashion should command the day. Well, this website will not be constrained by ‘1984’ type restrictions which Calleja/Plaskitt have hitherto tried to apply to Regulator Watch.

We will not however be naming the footballer (even if we knew who he is) not because of some kind of restrictions on freedom of speech but simply because we do not care much about consenting adults shagging each other. Wilt admires that they have the energy to do so but quite frankly is otherwise not interested.

Meanwhile Wilt is back from overseas after a long, hard working and complex workload week requiring many meetings and mind crunching reflection. However, in compensation Wilt enjoyed glorious weather around the pool with his laptop/Blackberry in hand in the late afternoons – this is the only way to do business. Oh, and this time the hire car company upgraded him to a Saab 93 Convertible – it ‘fitted him’ like a glove.

It seems that not only is Huhne http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-13440744 going to be investigated by the police but also now David Laws http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-13443666

Someone has got it in for the Lib Dems – not least Guido http://order-order.com/ who has one to town on the Huhne case.

It is good of Guido remind us of an end to an error – just imagine if Gordon was still in office: http://order-order.com/2011/05/11/a-year-ago-today/

What a nightmare thought! I would love to do a family assessment on that couple – provided there was a risk assessment in relation to Nokia throwing!

Jesus, thank Gawd for Cameron – he at least seems a family man and a sensible political character.

I was somewhat under the impression that there was already a Chief Social Worker called David Behan – what is he doing these days if not promoting/overseeing the profession or advising Government/Parliament?

Wilt Portfolio

Wilt Portfolio

Behan, readers may recall, was the former CEO of the CSCI (Commission for Social Care Inspection – the son/daughter of the National Care Standards Commission) who had the extremely unfortunate experience of overseeing the debacle relating to Elizabeth Calleja and James Plaskitt (ex) MP. Behan, to his credit, delivered the death nail of the aforementioned in his commissioning and eventual publication, under immense duress from Calleja/Plaskitt not to do so, of the now famous CSCI Internal Review Report – see: http://regulatorwatch.co.uk/2009/11/csci-internal-review-report/

Calleja/Plaskitt threatened to take the matter to Judicial Review if Behan published the Internal Review Report which was highly critical of Calleja and (at least in first draft form) of James Plaskitt too (former MP for Warwick and Leamington Spa – where Calleja resides).

Wilt Portfolio

Wilt Portfolio

The final version was cleaned-up somewhat although Wilt has a copy of that first draft, as does Calleja and Plaskitt – not happy reading for them in first draft or final published version.

We only however publish the final version on Regulator Watch to spare their blushes – for now J

He (Behan) on the eventual demise of the CSCI got promoted to a post of Chief Social Worker but was forever thereafter invisible in terms of anything he did – has anyone seen him in the last few years.

And now Munro http://www.communitycare.co.uk/Articles/2011/05/11/116771/munro-backs-creation-of-chief-social-worker.htm

and the Government appear to support this ‘new’ role: http://www.communitycare.co.uk/Articles/2011/05/11/116785/government-backs-munro-plan-for-chief-social-worker-role.htm

What Wilt would like to know is, what happened to the previous role and will the supposed ‘new’ incumbent have any teeth – I think Behan had teeth, well he did speak without any impediment and was a rather reasonable bloke I am told; he did after all authorise lots of compensation £dosh to a few parties, but not Calleja – in our book that makes him very reasonable indeed.

Wilt Portfolio

Wilt Portfolio

Anyway, if anyone finds Behan (we think with a CBE medal attached) wandering around Whitehall – tell him his job appears to up for grabs!

Oh, and we think Wilt should be appointed as Chief Social Worker in his place – nothing personal David, honest.

So ‘Commons’ sense prevails – Laws will be suspended, apologise and pay back loads of dosh; the little twat never had a defence and to rely on the argument that he was attempting to prevent his sexuality becoming public was pathetic.

Wilt Porfolio

Wilt Porfolio

It was simple – to avoid any personal embarrassment (on an issue which is no longer broadly something of concern to the public and, especially in his political/social circles) simply required him not to make any claims whatsoever. Whatever others and he might argue, he was ‘on the make’ and his motives were to defraud, despite his £millions in personal wealth. See the Telegraph article here:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/mps-expenses/liberal-democrat-mps-expenses/8507158/MPs-expenses-David-Laws-suspended-from-House-of-Commons-for-seven-days.html

What a twat, of the first order.

Wilt Portfolio

Wilt Portfolio

Having said that, he is a loss to the coalition in him not being in Government – he only has himself to blame as a greedy little piggy.
