Hello from North Wales – this my first post.
Wilt has been telling me off for not posting as he puts it ‘hitherto.’ He is very posh that Wilt fella – it must be his Oxbridge education. ‘Hitherto up here means something akin to shagging sheep, which despite common myth is not true – well not unless you com from Scotland, England or Ireland as they claim Welsh sheep are better looking. They certainly taste better after a good roasting!
Well, here we go:
Here in North West Wales we still see Ynys Mon (Anglesey to you English) Council are in tatters: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-north-west-wales-12940899 and remain under special measures/management.
And of course we had the queen come to visit http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-12929250 – a not so special an event. We in these parts have long memories of Edward I and the subsequent use of Caernarfon Castle more recently to invest Prince Charles as the Prince of Wales – about as subtle as throwing a brick at the Welsh.
However we wish Prince William well in his forthcoming marriage, not that many folk in these parts care very much. And let it not be forgotten that the two most influential British monarchs were Henry VIII and Elizabet I – both Tudors with exceptional Welsh credentials and heritage.
Not much other news other than this pleasing result in ‘mission control’ (i.e. Cardiff) : http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_1/9439039.stm
Meanwhile in other parts of Wales there is an expected invasion from Norway in Mid-Wales http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-12937436
We live the high life over here you know, as Wilt will testify to when he next visits North Wales. We also say hello to Salopian – come visit us again soon.
