Community Care has commented:

Angered by inaccurate media reports in which Tracy Dawber, the community care worker charged in relation to the Little Ted’s Nursery case, was identified as a social worker, users of community care.co.uk’s CareSpace discussion forum wrote to both the BBC and the Daily Mirror asking them to correct their coverage.

The BBC immediately corrected its online report and last week The Mirror wrote back to CareSpace user Hatgirl admitting that it had been incorrect to refer to Dawber as a social worker and promising to change its online article.

The actions of Hatgirl and other CareSpace users shows what ordinary social workers can do about poor reporting when they take positive action. It is more powerful than our Stand Up Now for Social Work media campaign because it is led by social workers themselves. We are proud of our campaign but social workers needed to take up the baton themselves. Now they have.

The real campaign is just beginning”

See the Blog article here: http://www.communitycare.co.uk/blogs/community-care-editorial-comment/2010/01/how-social-workers-took-on-the-media—and-won.html

Indeed it has only just begun and Regulator Watch is no slouch in posture in this area either, among others.

It’s payback time.

Perhaps at last frontline staff, Community Care Magazine and more focused bloggers are getting hold of less friendly media (and Twats like Plaskitt MP and Mrs C) by the neck and giving them a good shaking to face reality.

Not everyone will subscribe to the Regulator Watch style or approach but for certain it is having an impact, with the help of its regular visitors and contributors (including comments from its critics).

Wilt modelled his site and less than conventional approach on the Guido Fawkes Blog (http://order-order.com/) and you can like it or hate it – that is fine, either way.

We pay tribute to other bloggers such as:

http://wallofbrick.wordpress.com/

http://anti-socialworker.blogspot.com/

http://pinktape.co.uk/

a whole number on community care blogs: http://www.communitycare.co.uk/commcare-blogs/ and the Community Care Forum as set out here:

http://www.communitycare.co.uk/carespace/default.aspx

There are numerous others (Bloggers) not listed above and a number in the making, not least from File Doctor et al (regular contributors from Regulator Watch).

It’s called taking back control. Excellent!

Yet another fool and fraud hanging out in Warwickshire – what a complete Dork!  See article here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/coventry_warwickshire/8454415.stm

How many dickheads does Warwickshire have? Gawd. Obviously three, including this chap. No award for guessing the other two………

It could only happen in Scotland. See the article here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/8454242.stm

It should prove to be an interesting insurance claim – I think not! Utter Twats.

BASW Chair Tim Chittleburgh has temporally stood down after allegations published in Private Eye, that not very research based rag of bollocks. It’s impossible to find an online version of the article although there is a cryptic reference to it on their website stating:

“The social workers’ leader, magistrate and Palace guest who is refusing to stump up the cash a court ordered him to.”

Private Eye do not publish all articles on the web, nor do they sign up to the voluntary code run by the Press Complaints Commission – which is a bit odd until you realise that if they did they would be inundated with complaints. Twats.

It seems Community Care is mystified too about what all this is about – probably crap if Private Eye standards have been applied. See the Community Care article here: http://www.communitycare.co.uk/Articles/2010/01/12/113534/basw-chair-tim-chittleburgh-steps-aside-after-allegation.htm and there is a Blog comment here: http://www.communitycare.co.uk/blogs/social-work-blog/2010/01/tim-chittleburgh-stepped-aside.html

I’ll not be rushing out to get a back copy of Private Eye – no doubt Community Care will be doing that. Sadly, Private Eye has fallen to the standards of the tabloids. Very sad!

Ofsted (yesterday) were all over the Regulator watch website like a rash. Judging by the specific articles they accessed it is quite obviously (again) in response to Mrs C and or Plaskitt MP harassing them.

Ah well, such is life and we know of course that the organisation is so bloated that it has time to act at the behest of Mrs C/Plaskitt even though Ofsted has no remit. As per the “Storm in a Teacup” article, commenting on MP Plaskitt’s pathetic efforts, to cleanse the records relating to Mrs C (e.g. those which do not fit his/her mindset) speech in the House of Commons, the matter is “without” the scope of the Regulator. So why do they continue?

Is Regulator Watch regulated –No!

Is Wilt in a Regulated provision – No!

Is Wilt regulated – No!

Is Ofsted wasting public funds? A BIG YES! Indeed it is unlawful. Do they not learn the lessons of the NCSC and CSCI? Did not the CSCI have serious discussions about Mrs C with Ofsted to “warn” them that the woman would next try to engage them in mind boggling and utterly pointless historical concerns long since dead, like the Monty Python parrot? YES, they were warned, in detail.

Wilt thinks it’s about time David Cameron was alerted to this time wasting.

Whitehall Willy I think about got the measure in his comment here (see item 15): http://regulatorwatch.co.uk/2009/12/who-is-wilt/

Does this woman have nothing else to do? What a life! Twat!

Despite earlier declarations of complete innocence and no wrong doing Harrman finally admits her guilt of driving without due care and attention. Evidence that she was using a mobile phone whilst driving was dropped – we are left to wonder why after the initial reports of her erratic behaviour. So too was the charge of leaving an accident scene without exchanging details have also been dropped, again we wonder why.

Clearly this stalking Labour Party Leader got away with the embarrassing charge of driving whilst using a mobile phone but those who observed her are yet to respond to the maverick attitude of the Minister who had hitherto been quite clear, explicit and assertive in her defence.

Somehow, I suspect Harman will not be hearing the last of this matter – were there Mobile phone records accessed in the course of prosecuting this matter i.e. was her Mobile active at the time she had this “no damage” incident?

If there was “no damage” what exactly was the reason for confessing to undue care and attention – did she run over a duck?

Wilt has at least a clear driving licence and no penalty points whatsoever. Harman now has three – oh and will she attempt to add the cost of the fine to her expenses? The woman is so arrogant that even that effort will not surprise Wilt.

See the BBC report here:

What a TWAT.

It seems the Howard League aint very fond of Ofsted either. But then, who is? See the Community Care article here:

http://www.communitycare.co.uk/Articles/2010/01/07/113498/ofsted-slammed-by-howard-league-chief-over-inspection.htm

Ofsted and the GSCC however remain huge fans of Wilt – they have visited five times today to view www.regulatorwatch.co.uk  and several times earlier this week. We hope they like it. What else do these public employees have to do whilst working from home and remotely logging in to the network – yes we know precisely where you are.

This is really encouraging – a quadriplegic man making the first trans-Atlantic crossing, and British too. Listening to him on the radio he was a complete inspiration.

See the BBC article here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/hampshire/8445668.stm

Wilt has had a thought of sailing to the America’s but has never quite got the nerve (or the time) to do so. Perhaps next year! We will see how we do with our sail to the Mediterranean in the spring (alas less Salty Dog – just to complicated and not good for her really, especially if she went overboard).  Needless to say Wilt’s trip has numerous ports to stop off at and sailing as much as possible to the inshore, and no bleeding sails either – the trusty twin Volvo engines will do nicely thank you.

And it will not be solo either – no Gawd forbid!

Geoff Holt is now added to my list of heroes that one hopes to emulate in the wake of his success. Good on yer mate.

Some several months back someone I work with occasionally went sailing and diving off the Somalia coast – is she fucking mad? Anyway the scuba group did not get hijacked by pirates. Fortunately there are no reported (at least serious) pirates in the Med and anyway our close friends in Malta will be looking out for us – don’t mess with the Knight Templar is all I will say. That now Masonic order of which Wilt is a fully signed up Member have a few other hidden armoury other than their trusty swords – we wave our bare bums in Monty Python fashion, as well as rolling up a trouser leg (difficult in shorts) and wearing a knotted hanky on our balding heads! Great fun when you are pissed as a fart. And in fancy dress too. Wilt looks splendid but the attire is not designed for sailing.

Anyway, more of this in the spring – Wilt will remain on line (via satellite) and will apart from scuba diving be, in full regalia, visiting the local Knight Templar (Malta) Preceptory for a bit of sword practice!

To put things in perspective, the longest trip to date for Wilt by boat has been to the Isle of Mann, Northern France and Eire – each vomit provoking even in excellent weather conditions. Gawd help me getting to Malta. It is a good way however to lose weight. Eat – vomit – throw up, eat – drink – throw up – give up and go to bed! And that is just in the harbour!

BASW meantime are having a bit of a strop. They have concerns about the remit and independence of a social work college, and any role they may have in it. The prospect of BASW, even under the more effective Leadership of Hilton Dawson, running such a high (Royal) agency fills me with utter horror. Nice people, but they are the equivalent to social work what geeks are to computing – fucking boring. And, worse they are so disorganised and so politically correct as to cause one to shout in a loud voice, “Beam me up Scotty” as quick as you like, please.

Quite frankly, through bitter experience, Wilt is aware that BASW could not organise a piss up in a brewery – not that they would of course, as it would be offensive to alcoholics (or something equally stupid). No offence to Hilton – he needs to just lower your ambitions and keep things in perspective.

Thank Gawd it aint long off to retirement, and lots of lovely dosh to while away my late summer, autumn and winter years before meeting that great Organiser above – Jeremy Clarkson. During those twilight years Wilt will wear a flat cap and drive at 60 miles per hour in the outside lane of the motorway, like those other control freaks.

Ofsted are also back in the news – that agency Barry Sheerrman MP loves to hate. He lambasts the quality and competence of inspectors in this BBC article: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/education/8443890.stm and argues that its remit is now far too large. Maybe Ofsted will be going (in terms of social care) the same way as the CSCI and the NCSC before it.

Something has to give. Christine Gilbert and Ofsted now attract such poor media attention and are at risk of, like the GSCC, being put under special measures. My inside information from Ofsted indicates that since Gilbert arrived the staff morale has plummeted, even without Mrs C and Dork Plaskitt MP on their case.
