Medicine man……….

11-12-09

Boy is it busy, and to boot Wilt has had man-flue. Salty dog kept him company rolled up on the sofa along with the laptop and lemsip. Anyway, still got a lot of work done and kept in touch with news – I am leaving comment on the more political stuff to the likes of Guido http://order-order.com/ on his website. He is always a good source of news and insight.

And so children’s services remain in the news, as in:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/education/8402573.stm

where more social services are found wanting and another director bites the dust in Salford: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/manchester/8403806.stm.

Mind you both of these reports involve Ofsted! Are we convinced? Nope! And neither are various local authority or directors groups.

Meanwhile Mr Darling has published his pre-budget reports and local authorities, social workers and others (in fact none I can find) are impressed, albeit Gordon is believed to have a hand or two in its final draft. And so pay freezes:

AND

http://www.communitycare.co.uk/Articles/2009/12/09/113402/pay-increases-for-social-workers-to-be-capped-at-1.htm

and major cut backs:

whatever Mr Darling may have said, as expressed by Guido:

http://order-order.com/2009/12/11/investors-flee-fiscal-fiction/ because no one believes Darling, Brown or, generally, the twats in the Labour Party. Wilt is fast moving his finances offshore – indeed possibly like this blog moving abroad with the boat and Salty Dog.

In the mean time, our not respectable MPs have again been lining their pockets on the taxpayer – I must get my tower re-roofed. Trouble is I first need to build a tower.

Sniffling on the settee with laptop and Salty Dog I got the opportunity to watch the Pre-Budget Report and who did I spot looking smug, but Mr Plaskitt. That made me feel comforted that our future was left in his hands, not!

And as if to add insult to injury I also witnessed the same twat posing a question during the opposition debate. That was much more pleasant as the opposition spokesman utterly demolished Plaskitt and all he represents. “Why” he pleaded “is Warwickshire  losing so many Fire Stations?” The reply, from the opposition said “ It is because your Government under its inspection regime found that necessary.” Oh OK was written all over his face and, as usual looked like a total twat. That was far better than the lemsip!

Wilt (still recovering)
