Good V Evil………….

The Salty Dog has not been well – definitely too much beer at the weekend, you wicked beasty! As such a visit to the vets and a load of further dosh from a poor social care worker – plunders savings and investments, sells second home and sinks the boat for insurance purposes. Well, not really. Vets are expensive but not worth selling your assets even for the wee beasty.
What am I to do with this alcoholic dog?
It is very odd (but then not) I think that dogs get far more favourable terms than a spouse, whether that spouse is female or male, Salty or otherwise dogs just have this ability to curl up next to you, lick your nose (yuck, splutter) and look so much in need of love and protection. So innocent but yet crafty enough to eat the cat food (and anything else that takes their fancy) and still give the impression of being starved of food, good exercise (mostly mine) and affection.
Yes, I know Salty Dog is taking me for a ride, and yes she exploits me and indeed thinks I am an idiot – which I probably am. But I really hope she understands that there is actually, regrettably, more to life than simple cuddles, kisses, playing games and close reciprocal and mutual affection – oh and getting drunk!
Regrettably outside of those “idyllic” and hoped of everlasting life of childhood dreams are the devils of reality and the sheer evil of some and the tirades or obsessions of others – although none are mutually exclusive and can be combined easily within one character – take Hitler for example.
But there are some still living that have some of or all of those characteristics and Wilt has come across one or two, as have others. Stalkers are a good example. Yes for some it’s an illness and for others it is just sheer evilness, or at least some think that. It’s an interesting debate. Was the Yorkshire ripper ill or evil? I suppose if you think in religious terms, everyone can be redeemed, and we are all sinners, or so0me think. But then Wilt will not lob that first stone (read your bible if youare confused).
I aint so certain anymore – that comes with age when life’s experience and you become more circumspect or cynical, wiser, or otherwise grumpy old men and women – I just love that TV series. It’s like looking into a mirror.
Anyway, Obama has got his prize on the back of his position statement that evil does exist, and I must say he has my vote. It seems he is the most unpopular US President since records began as a mid-term President. It seems then that he must be doing something right – like reforming medical insurance.
We like him, and yes evil does exist as he asserts. And he aint yet met some of the people and co-conspirers know. Mind you, Plaskitt and co may have written to him, they normally write to most people.
