OK, I know Wilt can be a bit disorganised but it seems Ofsted have a major problem. Hiding Finding paperwork behind the filing cabinet for only then a whistleblower to tell tales was a bit of a bad break for Ofsted – it’s called being found to tell porkies. See the BBC article here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/8352566.stm

There are similar articles in most of the broadsheet newspapers and Community Care.

Are we surprised?

Well let’s not forget who heads up Ofsted – the wife of shamed MP Tony McNulty who fiddled his expenses and had to apologise to the House and repay £13,000.00, see article here:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/mps-expenses/6455795/MPs-expenses-Tony-McNulty-told-to-apologise-and-repay.html

What is her name, oh yes Christine Gilbert – most of her staff regard as a total liability and an accident waiting to happen. How many bleeding accidents are needed before Balls, smarmy bastard, gives her the push.

I wonder what the odds are of Sharon winning here case? Wilt denies all rumours of placing £250,000 bet. Such rumour is malicious.

Here are some of the other articles:

It’s all happening at the GSCC, and other places.

Firstly, Mike Wardle has been sacked, see the Community Care article her:

http://www.communitycare.co.uk/Articles/2009/11/09/113111/gscc-dismisses-chief-executive-mike-wardle.html

but one wonders is this another Sharon Shoesmith or Lisa Arthurworrey e.g. scapegoats? Somehow Wilt thinks this might not be the last we have heard of Wardle.

Meanwhile the GSCC has been placed under Special Measures, see the article here:

http://www.communitycare.co.uk/Articles/2009/11/05/113074/gscc-given-six-months-by-dh-to-improve-conduct-system.html

with six months to get their act together. There is also an interesting article here:

http://www.communitycare.co.uk/blogs/social-care-experts-blog/2009/11/the-gscc-needs-reminding-of-wh.html

from Denise Platt, the former Chief Inspector at the now defunct Social Services Inspectorate (now that shows my age) and Chair of the CSCI (now also defunct). She makes some good points.

Meanwhile back at the ranch (GSCC) they have published the details of their latest conduct case, here:

http://www.gscc.org.uk/News+and+events/Media+releases/McLoughlin+Press+Release.htm

An extract from the press statement says it all:

“Craig McLoughlin, 54, who was employed by Sheffield City Council was found to have offered to buy Mr A, a user of services, an alcoholic drink despite knowing that he had been through detox for alcohol dependency. McLoughlin was drunk at the time and said to Mr A, whose father had passed away, words to the effect of “don’t worry about your Dad; I’ll be your Dad” and then went on to disclose to other people in the pub that he was Mr A’s social worker.”

What a dork!

There are three further upcoming cases listed here:

http://www.gscc.org.uk/Conduct/Conduct_hearings/Upcoming_hearings/

There are some juicy allegations in these.

Meanwhile the case of Elleni Cordingley is back in the news – she has won £8000 in compensation from Swansea Council who had sacked her when the Care Council for Wales (the Welsh version of the GSCC) they, grossly, removed her social work registration. The Care Standards overturned that decision and in the process demonstrated that the CCW were, shall we say, utter firkin Dorks.

At the time of writing about that matter earlier this year I said then that Swansea was as bad as the CCW, and this compensation payment confirms it. Nice one!

Elleni declined taking up her old job – I wonder why? Congratulations to Elleni. See the article here:

http://www.communitycare.co.uk/Articles/2009/11/09/113113/swansea-social-worker-wins-compensation-after-conduct-reversal.html

GSCC under special measures – you could not make it up! Denise Platt said:

“A regulator must act firmly to take action when concerns about fitness to practice or conduct are raised. It is not only the public that demands this, social workers want it too. Professionals should be dealt with fairly, competently and with integrity.”

Fairness, competence and integrity – yes these are quite normal expectations. Do the GSCC do any of that? No!

Platt adds:

“A regulator needs to practice what it preaches and work to the highest ethical and regulatory standards in its own field. It should ensure that staff are properly trained and developed and that they are confident in their roles, properly equipped to do a difficult job.”

Platt should know all about that – look at the mess of the CSCI which she ultimately had responsibility for before its demise, like the NCSC before it. Mind you, neither the NCSC nor CSCI were ever as bad as the GSCC, the SSSC and CCW.

Platt concludes:

“This is not a good time for the social work regulator to be in trouble – the GSCC needs all the support we can give it at this time.”

Um, well can I disagree? I think the answer is to get shot of them and start again. They employ fools and are lead by fools. There are lots of unemployed people out there far more capable than this lot.

And if social workers demonstrated this level of incompetence, they would not be social workers any more. So, to that helpful list of qualities (“fairness, competence and integrity”) we could add equality?

Yeah…….

04-11-09

No surprise that the GSCC have been, yet again, criticised thoroughly – this time by the Council for Healthcare Regulatory Excellence.

You can see the full report here:

http://www.gscc.org.uk/NR/rdonlyres/940CEBBE-88BF-48DF-A645-0E1B5E7FE1EB/0/090930_CHRE_GSCC_Finalreport.pdf

It is very damming of officers, directors and committee members at all levels. In fact the report simply confirms what we have all known from day one of the existence of the GSCC and which the GSCC themselves have reluctantly come to accept – they are simply fucking useless, indeed clueless.

I am circulating a new joke – how many GSCC officers does it take to change a light bulb? Answer, none as they have simply failed to see the light.

Community Care report here:

http://www.communitycare.co.uk/Articles/2009/11/04/113058/social-care-regulator-slammed-over-conduct-failings.html

In their article, Community Care (which includes a sycophant editor GSCC lover) quotes Rosie Varley (Chair and, um, page three Sun pin-up girl of the GSCC) as saying:

“There is a lot of work still to do to get the conduct function onto a sustainable footing, but we now have greater clarity of focus and a platform to build from. I have invited the CHRE back next year to examine the progress made on our transformation plan, and I am confident that we will then be able to demonstrate that we are rigorously and robustly exercising our powers to hold social workers to account for their conduct.”

What exactly does that statement have to do with the price of cheese, working within budgets or, even more importantly, tackling the core issue of basic competence among staff of the GSCC and their leaders? Did I miss something here? Now in Wiltish fashion, if I were Varley I might have said:

“Look, we fucked up, we continue to fuck up, I have no faith in the staff, managers or quite frankly the executive and I resign, forthwith. I think it best to dismantle the whole lot and start again –however can I please have my gong and a bonus, and a gold plated pension?”

One suspects that Robin Weekes will not be getting a gong – he who heads the conduct service and has failed abysmally. He who also labelled one complainant (but begged not to be quoted) as vexatious, but unfortunately did so in front of a witness – ooooopps!

He was however correct in that assessment of the complainant even though he has managed the Conduct service throughout and has led to the utter lack of respect, from anyone you care to mention, to this day. By all accounts he is a nice fellow but, well, fucking incompetent according to reports from friends of Wilt, who have met him.

Much is said in the Council for Healthcare Regulatory Excellence review report of the GSCC Conduct Function about fundamental stall competence, their moral and indeed their management. The best that can be said is that moral is low, competence is virtually non-existent and leadership was, um, flawed. Flawed is not a word used  in the report but reading between the lines, you kind of get that impression.

As devastating as it is, the Council for Healthcare Regulatory Excellence report was perhaps pulling its punches in a hope of damage limitation. Given full throttle the authors may well have had a field day in destroying a career or several – an objective after all which the GSCC relish in (their now proven incompetent fashion) to achieve themselves.

Wilt would have like to see also an examination of where the GSCC had failed in terms of conduct cases overturned by the Care Standards Tribunal (CST), as in Lisa Arthurworrey for example, and the numerous other cases where the CST have earlier highlighted the nonsense of the GSCC management and analysid of complaints.

Well, Wilt remains of the view that the GSCC is as good as gone – hail the new king, the Social work College. Long may he be King – or if he prefers, Queen!  I aint prejudiced against anyone, well Ok a few names I could mention i.e. Gordon Brown. The Prime Mentalist or otherwise referred to by others as the Cyclops of progress.

To help the GSCC staff who regularly visit Regulator Watch (at the behest of Mrs C) – Cyclops means a one eyed monster of Greek mythical stories and Dork means a complete fucking idiot. I know, I know – you ast the GSCC have gad very limited training  - but do you really need to be so stupid, at tax payer expense?

Neither Gordon nor the Chancellor have responded to my post requesting a tax rebate. Perhaps they are too busy fiddling their expenses?

Whatever, just get rid of these fucking Dorks at the GSCC.

bemused……

02-11-09

Wilt has been contacted by a mate – he is rather bemused, indeed  he is rather, can we say, beyond belief.  The friend concerned was visited by DC xxxxxxxx (as in detective constable) thinking he might be Wilt – or not as the case may be. Initially bemused, the fella got the point – oh you mean “Wilt” he said.

OK, (thinking quickly) the man said, OK what interest is that of you, DC xxxxx? Is there a criminal offence – no said DC xxxx? Um, OK so no offence, you intend not to arrest me and what exactly is the problem?

Well, in fact nothing, said DC xxxx, but Elizabeth Calleja has complained (again)!

OK, DC xxxxx, I am not Wilt, says the man, if I were is there some criminal offence?

Nope says the DC.

Um, OK, why are you here?

My boss sent me.

Um. OK that does not exactly answer my question?

Explain, please DC?

I could, says DC, understand that Wilt might publish comments about (Edited) and Plaskitt, after all they seem to publish anything as they please.

YES, said the man. And I have done so via Regulator Watch, but I am not Wilt, got it?

OK, says the DC (he is a lovely man by all accounts), is it Brian? You mean Henderson? Yes says DC. Nope, but Wilt( he/she) is a man known to both of us, however – indeed (Edited) is known to everyone, as is inceasibgly Wilt!

Is it someone else says DC?

Correct says the man.

OK, DC xxxxxx, says the man – there is no criminal offence, is that correct?

YES.

Am I under investigation?

NO, says the DC.

Is there any risk to an explanation why you are visiting me, detective constable?

Um, well we just wanted to check facts.

Oh OK says the man. – you have the facts, AND?

I need to report back to my boss, says DC xxxxx.

Wilt thinks all isvery odd, we think!

Wilt is of the view that (Edited) is becoming even more paranoid.

Objective: (Edited) – to “out” Wilt. “Failed” – in the same way she tried via Pixelmakers (also “failed”).

Make a report to police – no Criminal offence (or was it Plaskitt).

“Freedom of expression – upheld”. “No Criminal offence”.

Opinions incoming as expressed here:

Ofsted (or any other inspectors) are people not to be liked but the ADCS (Association of Directors of Children’s Services) are piling on the criticism in this article in Community Care, here:

http://www.communitycare.co.uk/Articles/2009/11/02/113037/adcs-and-ofsted-lock-horns-on-inspections.html

Ofsted are regarded in their modus operandi as “fatally flawed” by the ADCS – so, ok what is new?  Christine Gilbert and her MP husband are known frauds, so why is this such a surprise? Gilbert a fraud in thinking she knows canything about child welfare (together with Ofsted) and her husband for fiddling his expenses claims (not unlike Plaskitt and numerous others).

Me thinks social care is buggered…..

Post me…….

Hug a postie  (or is it posty) as he/she may not be around for much longer, or at least not employed by the Post Office – it’s a real shame. Our postman/woman turns up relentless – they are not on strike.

Give up fella’s – the strike aint working, it will never work, but I am afraid you will need to do so i.e. as in a full working day.

The Government are keen obviously in destroying these good (albeit some misguided) folk but did they save the post office in my village – no, you firkin twats! Now I have to travel miles to get a stamp or pay tax on our five cars. Another Gordon Brown fucks up again event.

Utter Dork, First Order with Ribbons and Bars.

LSD anyone…..

02-11-09

The argument between Johnson (Home Secretary) and Nutt (the Professor) over drug classification is a farce. Normally I have a lot of time for Johnson (not difficult when you compare him to the Prime Mentalist – Guido phrase) but I think he has fucked up on this matter and drawn attention to Gordon Brown’s incompetence in undoing the reclassification of certain drugs – perhaps that is what Johnson intended?  Guido Fawkes has a good analysis of the issue here, I think:

http://order-order.com/2009/11/02/you-cant-have-politicians-stepping-into-the-scientific-arena/

This Government is falling apart day by day – role on the election.

There is no doubt that drugs are a major world problem – in social care alcohol (in particular) and drugs increasingly feature as issues in child protection and family support matters. In my humble opinion, (certain) drugs particularly contribute to increasing numbers of child welfare concerns as their parents and carers become ever dependent and will do virtually anything to get their fix. These are increasingly concerning matters but ones which politicians should rely upon experts to advise upon, and for the likes of Gordon Brown to follow.

Yes advisors advise, experts have opinions but decision makers should decide – there is a clear distinction in responsibilities and role, but it aint that simple. The tensions between the two deserve dialogue – not executive power based on a leader who claims to have moral compass, but in fact has none unless it promotes his premiership.

The Guardian has a take on Nutt’s list of dangerous drugs, here:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/science/2009/nov/02/david-nutt-dangerous-drug-list

Wilt agrees, in his non scientific stance, with Nutt.

In the times:

Anyway, Wilt is off to the pub for a Cider, a fag in the outside (covered/heated) bar and a chat with fellow bloggers.

LSD anyone – apparently it helps MPs get a grip of reality!

Wilt

Posted by Wilt on November 2, 2009

It is interesting that since the MPs allowances scandal the idea of party political election campaign funding through taxation has died down and (thankfully) got kicked into the long grass, or at least Wilt has not noticed any mention of this outrageous idea in the press nor dare it pass the lips of MPs or ministers. Dare they mention it in this climate – they would have to be firkin mad!

If that prospect (draining even more tax money to support these feckless twots) ever got a hold, that is when Wilt would move his money and tax affairs offshore. What brainless Dork had that idea? Oh here you are BNP, have some tax money so that you can promote your fascist and facile ideas to the public at large – did the Dork have a plan for that one?

Even better, dear MP here is another lump of dosh for you to squander telling me how good you are when in fact you are a firkin thieving bastard, a kind of Robin Hood anti-character who robs the poor to pay the rich!

Well, dear MP, your fucked – you have troughed (as in Guido language) enough and now you can get a taste of the reality that millions have to cope with every day – Wilt tends to think that experiencing reality tends to focus the mind and keep feckless MPs in check.

Some of the comments here reflect that position, see Guardian article here:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2009/nov/02/mps-expenses-kelly-menzies-campbell

This little piggy went to market (bought a wide screen TV, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, at taxpayers’ expense), whilst another piggy claimed for a non-existent mortgage (ooooops) and a third piggy (in fact most of them) just squealed all the way home (now was that Redditch or London, Harrow or Westminster – no I know it was Southampton).

Keep squealing you bastard pigs – you are as good as bacon.   Yes, and that includes you Mr Plaskitt, the moral upholder of anti-fraud prevention among benefit cheats. What exactly did you spend that £300-£400 per month on food?

I like a good piggy story – and even children understand morality. Shame MPs do not.
