Dorks with bells on……..

Some mothers do ave em, eh?
Read the article here:
God moves in mysterious ways. He moved me to create Regulator Watch in order to sustain my sanity – OK to help me overcome a desperate urge to throttle the stupid nerds at the GSCC, Ofsted and several other places. So far it has worked but a man can take only a limited amount of provocation.
Well at least Paul Collett, Children’s Guardian, appears not to have been shafting his service users, or robbing them of their savings, or indeed exploiting them for his own ends in some other way. No, he appears to have been a little misguided in his advice – OK a lot misguided.
Albeit Wilt is not fully appraised of the facts he would judge, if Collett is found guilty of misconduct, that an admonishment would perhaps be sufficient. Maybe a suspension for twelve months with conditions attached to renewal of registration.
What will the GSCC do? We will wait and see but I have this awful feeling that Collett will be de-registered.
Why do I feel this? Well, let us take Rosalind Shaw a 65 year old Hospital Social Worker. There is no suggestion that she was a serial failing social worker over many years. She never robbed anyone or shagged her clients. At the end of a career most of us are ready to be shelved and our performance and energy is less than it should be – in fact it must be rare to find social workers still active at 65 years.
See the GSCC press release (notch on the cosh list) here:
http://www.gscc.org.uk/News+and+events/Media+releases/Rosalind+Shaw+conduct+hearing.htm
So why, oh why end this woman’s career with the disgrace of being removed as an unfit professional. Do the GSCC have no compassion? Well, no surprise no!
It’s OK of course that they fuck up all the time.
Ferkin Dorks.
UPDATE
It seems the GSCC have had a rare moment of compassion and proportionality. See the article here:
However the GSCC officers stated:
The presenting officer for the GSCC at last week’s hearing, Rachel Birk, argued that Collett’s actions were “fundamentally incompatible with registration as a social worker.” (quote from Community Care).
So, less a turnaround for the GSCC and more the Conduct Committee having less confidence in the GSCC judgements – especially its conduct service led by Robin Weekes. OK, led by might be a bit of an exaggeration.
It is a proportionate judgement – that is major progress.
Nothing as yet on the GSCC website – GSCC have their tails between their legs again.
